Packaging

We want to send your goods as safely as possible so they arrive to you in the same condition as they left us. We also want to leave you with as little plastic and plastic lined containers as possible. The aim is zero plastic, the reality for food safety is generally PLA, which although plant-based will need to be commercially composted.

Vegware

Vegware has been supplying plant based compostable catering disposables for almost 20 years. Compared to the plastic and styrofoam alternatives of old, their PLA lined container are a game changer. They care about what happens to their products after service too.

Vegware have systems to collect waste and commercially compost their disposables.

These products are made from recycled or reclaimed materials, so even if you don’t have access to a compost bin, it all helps.

NotPLA

NotPLA have a range of disposable food packaging, some are edible, some compostable and some even dissolve in water. We’ll be using their seaweed coated food containers in the shop. They are recognised under the Single Use Plastic Directive as plastic free and take only 6 weeks to compost.

Decent Packaging

We’ll get our hot cups and lids from Decent Packaging. They have Aqueous lined cups and paper lids made with non toxic inks and dyes. They are certified home compostable which means it will breakdown in an ambient compost within 12 months and Earthworm Approved.

Simple Life co.

Simple life co. supply our compostable mailer bags.

According to Simple Life Co. if you have a green waste bin, you can pop it in there. Your local rubbish processor will take care of the rest.
